This amazing birdwatching tour visits three unique habitats: Guamuchito Mountain, and the very special Sierra del Vallejo Biosphere Reserve. On this excursion we will watch for birds in dry forest, tropical forest and tidal wetlands all in one morning! Sierra del Viejo is located inland from the area north of Puerto Vallarta known as Nuevo Vallarta. Birds flock to the brackish water created by the Pacific Ocean and Ameca River. We will watch for such species as the
Black-Bellied Tree Duck, Great Blue Heron,
Roseate Spoonbill, and various species of ducks,
herons, gulls, pelicans and parrots. Our
birding adventures continue as we make our way
to Sayulita and San Pancho, with an estuary
overflowing with bird life, really a great
destination. On the tropical deciduous
forest we'll enjoy a light breakfast among
sightings of Citreoline trogon, grey hawk,
sinaloa wren, painted bunting, russet-crowned
motmot, boat-bill heron, green kingfisher,
Elegant quail, squirrel cuckoo, Pigmy owl,
warblers, woodpeckers, more than 40 species per
day. Runs: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:00 AM from Puerto Vallarta, 6:15 AM from Nuevo Vallarta and 6:40 AM from Bucerias. Duration: 8 Hours Approximately.
