Are you ready for an unforgettable underwater adventure? Just 25 miles south of Marina Vallarta lies El Chimo, a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Nestled in front of a charming fishing village, El Chimo marks the southernmost point of the bay and offers an unparalleled diving experience.

Leave the snorkelers far behind on this excellent dive. Located about 26 miles south of Puerto Vallarta, this site abounds with fish. The floor has fantastic pinnacles, rising from a plateau called Torrecillias, and amazing columns, called Las Iglesias, like supports on an ancient cathedral. Many divers do this site more than once on their vacation because there is so much area to cover - more than a quarter-mile across.

The light dances off the rocks, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that will leave you in awe. It's a dream come true for underwater adventure seekers!

This is what I wrote in Trip Advisor: Scuba Diving With Vallarta Adventures I've been diving at the various sites in Puerto Vallarta a number of times over the last 10 years and have had mixed experiences, especially before I started brining my own gear and making sure that the trip I was on was 100% dedicated to scuba diving. On this last trip I was scheduled to dive Los Anegados on Wednesday 28/11 but weather and water conditions were not conducive to safe diving at that location. I think that dive staff was very responsible in their decision making to suggest heading south to two more sheltered sites along the south shore, Colomitos and Majahuitas. Both decent dives but the main thing is that their judgement was correct and all went well. The following day weather and sea conditions were perfect so we headed out to El Morrow for our first dive (highly recommended - nice drift along the east wall) and then, since we missed Los Anegados the day prior, all agreed to move there for our second dive. Great decision. Big fun playing with the surge winding our way through various narrow slots, short but interesting swim throughs, etc. Great crew with Hugo leading the way.
