Looking for some real Mexican history and culture? You can find it here. Nestled high up in the Sierra Madre is a little mining town called San Sebastian. This Spanish colonial town dates back to 1605, when it was a gold and silver mining center, once housing over 4,000 people. Today, San Sebastian is a retreat, hidden from the tourists of Puerto Vallarta, and home to only about 600 citizens. Spend a day getting the feel for real Mexico in this historic community. Once a bustling hub for gold and silver trade in New Spain, San Sebastian now invites visitors to step back in time and explore its rich heritage. Stroll through its peaceful plazas, visit centuries-old buildings, and experience the authentic charm of this remote mountain village. The perfect getaway for those seeking beauty, history, and tranquility in one unforgettable destination. Then it's time for lunch at a local Restaurant, where you'll be treated to a full variety of exquisite Mexican plates. After the delicious lunch, we'll visit a local tequila factory, where you can taste different types of tequila and learn how this most popular of Mexican liquors is made. You'll even learn the "right way" to drink tequila (hint...no lime or salt required!) Cruise Passengers: Yes! This tour is available to you as a shore excursion.
